For 55 years, the Bureau County Homestead Festival has been one of our community’s most anticipated weekends of the year—a time when old friends reconnect, families make memories, and we celebrate the rich history that makes Princeton and Bureau County so special!
The Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to have played a role in this beloved tradition for many, many years. Each year, you’ll find the Chamber joining in on the festivities with a presence in the annual Homestead Festival Parade that takes place on Saturday of festival weekend. Thanks to our amazing Chamber Ambassadors over the years who have created original floats to go along with each year’s festival theme while also trying to tie in the role the Chamber plays in our economy and community! Boy, do we love celebrating alongside of the thousands of people who line our streets to enjoy this magnificent parade!
One of our favorite traditions is the annual Homestead Festival Window Display Competition, where Main Street businesses transform their storefronts to reflect the festival theme and the spirit of Homestead. These creative displays bring the celebration to life, add to the charm and ambiance of our historic Main Street, and encourage businesses and local non-profit organizations alike to take part in honoring our shared heritage. The competition helps create a stronger sense of community while showcasing the pride and creativity that make Princeton so unique! Reviving an Old Festival Tradition
The Chamber is excited to revive another cherished Homestead tradition—the Annual Homestead Festival Golf Outing! Taking place on Friday of Homestead weekend, this fun-filled event will bring golfers, businesses, and friends together for a day of laughter, friendly competition, and community camaraderie before the festivities kick into high gear.
